Whistleblowing Statement
MOPO Values
MOPO’s core mission is to provide clean, renewable energy to improve lives and help our customers move up the energy ladder. MOPO and all its staff are committed to:
- Treating all people with respect.
- Respecting the environment by responsibly managing and recycling electronic waste.
- Working with integrity and disclosing all conflicts of interest.
- Adhering to the GOGLA Consumer Protection Code, to protect consumer rights and treat our customers fairly.
- Refusing to accept or offer bribes, facilitation payments, or gifts that may bias the company’s impartiality or integrity.
- Protecting whistleblowers and not retaliating against reporters of misconduct.
- Working towards improving Gender Equality by providing equal opportunities to women.
Additionally, MOPO has a zero-tolerance policy toward Sexual Exploitation, Abuse, and Harassment (SEAH).
Grievance Mechanism
The Grievance Mechanism is for customers and community members to raise a complaint with MOPO if they have experienced misconduct or unethical treatment from any MOPO staff member or Agent. MOPO encourages open dialogue to resolve issues, as most matters can be resolved by your local MOPO Agent or Area Manager (who will visit your Hub regularly). Examples of grievances that can be reported include:
- Verbal, physical, or sexual harassment
- Discrimination
- Safety concerns or incidents
- Misconduct by MOPO Agents or Staff
- Any behaviour that violates MOPO’s values above
If you use the Mechanism, you will be asked to provide as much detail as possible about your concern to the company. This information will reach the company’s Environmental Social Governance team, who will investigate.
The Mechanism will also ask you if you would like to identify yourself with the report. You may choose to remain anonymous, though this may limit the company’s ability to respond to you.
You can use the grievance mechanism here.
Whistleblowing Mechanism
The Whistleblowing Mechanism is for MOPO employees, Agents, or third parties with whom MOPO has a business relationship (such as suppliers, customers, or local communities) to raise concerns about behaviour that goes against MOPO’s values.
The Whistleblowing Mechanism is not for customer complaints or product issues; these should be brought to the attention of your local MOPO Agent or Area Manager, or reported using the grievance mechanism above.
MOPO encourages use of the whistleblowing mechanism by anybody who believes there has been a violation of the company’s values, including:
- Any forms of financial misconduct (fraud, theft, bribery, corruption)
- Any forms of criminal activity
- Suspicions of forced labour, modern slavery, human trafficking, or the exploitation of children or vulnerable adults
- Any violation of the company’s policies
- Non-disclosure of a conflict of interest
- Physical or verbal abuse, discrimination, bullying or harassment of any form
- Sexual exploitation, abuse, or harassment
MOPO is committed to:
- Taking seriously and investigating any concerns or complaints
- Protecting against the unnecessary disclosure of the identity of those raising concerns or complaints, and respecting the anonymity of anonymous whistleblowers
- Ensuring no-one implicated in the complaint has a role in any investigation
- Protecting whistleblowers from retaliation regardless of if the complaint is upheld
- Reporting serious abuses to the authorities
If you use the Mechanism, you will be asked to provide as much detail as possible about your concern to the company. This information will reach the company’s Environmental Social Governance team, who will coordinate an investigation into the allegation.
The Mechanism will also ask you if you would like to identify yourself with the report. You may choose to remain anonymous, though this may limit the company’s ability to respond to you.
