Hawanatu’s Story

“Being an independent woman is the ultimate objective for me.”

“I don’t think it would have been possible for me to start a business without MOPO.”

Hawanatu is a 21-year-old bright and energetic young woman who enjoys the recognition brought by being a Mobile Power Agent. Since becoming an Agent, Hawanatu feels more respected and valued within the community. She takes pride in making donations or helping her friends access loans thanks to her Mobile Power earnings.

She has been taking care of her family since becoming an Agent, providing them with food, shelter and medical care. Her mother has been blind for nearly two decades, and Hawanatu is using her savings to pay for her care.

Hawanatu invested part of her Mobile Power income into developing a business selling food and women’s garments, to increase her earnings and be able to save more.

Working as a female Agent has given her hope. Hawanatu is feeling very positive about her future.

She is “confident that there is light at the end of the tunnel”.
